Travis

Travis was born in Illinois on the day of July 9th, 1985. Spending most of his youth in the Michigan wilderness, Travis developed a newfangled appreciation for beaches, sand, and nature (and a newfangled disinterest in compost heaps). He attended Montessori schools until 7th grade, where he spent many hours sneaking out of class to explore the woods and lake, much to the chagrin of his teachers.

During this introspective period of self-directed growth, Travis quickly uncovered an intense interest in artistic expression (ruining plenty of nice shirts with paint), along with a deep appreciation for the peculiarities of life in general. Travis’ creative interest spread to other more technological areas when he discovered the awesome allure of the computer, building his first website at the age of 12. These undercurrents carried him through high school and four years of college; where he graduated from University of Michigan in 2008 with a degree in Film & Video Studies. In 2007, Travis spent close to a year Auckland, New Zealand where he studied film, but more importantly, realized an intensified knowingness of his higher goal in life: to inspire others and help to catalyze global change.

It wasn’t until early 2008 that things really started to take shape in monolithic ways; Travis and his good friend Jack Taylor discussed plans for an energy machine and the founded Enlightened Bastards LLC, a company dedicated to realizing global technological and energy solutions. In 2009, Travis moved to California; during that period, a working E-Mach prototype was developed by Jack, while funding was handled by Tom, and website and networking opportunities were managed by Travis.

Travis is looking forward to what is to come, not just because his fortune cookie said so, but because that’s the way the universe delivers when you have unwavering belief in what you’re capable of.

Travis is the graphic and web designer of the EBTech website.
